The Rev. Jim Strader-Sasser - Priest-in-Charge

The Rev. Jim Strader-Sasser comes to Prince of Peace Episcopal Church after serving as the Priest in Charge of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg, PA and Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville, PA. Jim was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. He graduated from the University of Arizona and is a lifelong UA Wildcat fan - especially collegiate basketball. He’s the kind of guy you can easily approach and talk to because he is “very much ... human… fallible and honest, and looks to do his Christian best each day."  Father Jim spent over 15 years in the Air Force, and received a Master’s Degree in Education and Human Development from George Washington University in 1997. He was a navigator, trainer, educator, and an organizational development consultant in the government and secular worlds prior to aspiring to become an Episcopal priest. He earned his Masters of Divinity Degree from Episcopal Divinity School in 2003.

He was “called” to the Episcopal church in 1999, and began his full-time work as a priest in 2006. Jim says “spirituality, ethics, and living a Gospel inspired life are very important to me. The Episcopal Church offers a uniquely positive and balanced sacred space on American Christianity’s landscape. The core of my priestly work is to inspire congregations to transform their lives with Jesus Christ, their neighbors, their parishes, and themselves.” He enjoys reading/studying a variety of subjects, social networking, and watching way too much sports on ESPN. Father Jim also enjoys traveling and spending as much time as possible with his life companion of 18 years, the Rev. Dr. Howell Sasser, parish priest at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Newark, DE. They were married in May of 2016 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg, PA

Marrie Sanders  - Parish Administrator

Our parish administrator, Marrie Sanders, moved to Pennsylvania with her spouse and daughter in 2006. She has an extensive background in office and personnel management. Marrie’s personal philosophy is that everyone deserves grace, kindness, and a smile. Strangers are just potential new friends – they only need to meet! Her goal is to ensure that every person she encounters is greeted with a smile, has their needs met as much as possible, and leaves the interaction feeling better than when they started. When she is not loudly cheering for the Steelers, Marrie spends her free time getting into shenanigans with her sister and friends, spending time with her family, and serving her community.
